space out

I'm in the process of moving, and mentally preparing myself to go back to school. I'm hoping to work on my portfolio and the quality of work I post here will be better. I've been trying to paint more but haven't had a chance to scan or photograph any of that work yet. So here is one of the last drawings I was able to scan. From here on out I'll more than likely post bad photos of my work.

Joker

I thought I'd give the Clown Prince a shot. While I intend to keep posting drawings, I'm hoping to start adding paintings to my posts. Hope you enjoy.

Big Head Dead(pool)

I am still trying to get proportions down. His head came a little on the larger size. It sucks that I didn't notice until I'd inked it.

Not very good and out of practice.

Just an attempt at Hellboy. I've seen both the movies. Both were visually stunning but story-wise I thought the first was much better. I still might watch the second when it comes out on dvd for the visuals.

So a while back a friend of mine put some of my old work up on a temp website. It's old stuff but I think it's much better stuff. It sucks how out of practice I am.

A long time ago...

So back in the early 90's (if I remember correctly) there was a comic book called The Guardians of the Galaxy. I couldn't tell you exactly what it was about it that got my attention but it did for at least the first 20 issues. Well earlier this year the title was revived, but with a new cast of characters. I can't get enough of it. Here's my attempt at the new team. I might even give the old team a shot down the road.

Trying to get back on track

I've decided not to bore anyone with the rest of our dealing with our trip back to Galveston. It would be getting away from the purpose of the blog. Even though I haven't been posting, I've been trying to keep up with some drawing. I'll be posting them over time instead of all at once. Here's the oldest (I think). Done some time right before Ike. Hope you like it.

The road home

While the rest of the masses rushed home about two weeks ago my wife and I decided to sit it out. We wanted to avoid the heart-breaking mess and the long lines waiting to get back on the island.

We finally ventured back about a week later. We were fortunate enough to have our home virtually untouched. I say virtually because while the house is intact and our crap stayed dry, our home had been invaded by FLEAS! We have had our pets with us for the past 2 years or so but have never had a problem. We took the flea-free cat with us when we bugged out so I can only assume they sought out our home since it was high ground in the flood. We left again. Mainly because of a lack of hot water, lack of power for our window unit and the FLEAS.

This is getting lengthy. I'll finish manana.
